Aristotelis - Forum Officiel - ACC FFB a écrit :
I wish I could make myself clear once and for all but it is obvious for me that we will keep talking about this for decades...
So here we go again
In a rear wheel drive car with tons of caster and big slicks at the front, there is NO understeer to feel on the steering wheel. Heck you can't even feel understeer on a RWD car with street tyres and just around 4-5° of caster. Zero, none, nada.
If you have real life understeer feel from your FWD car, this is happening when you power understeer because the front tyres spin, but that is a specific situation in FWD cars.
We are very, VERY rigorous on the FFB. We don't add fake effects just to make you happy. We reproduce the forces created by the tyres and then leveraged by the suspension geometry. That's it. If you need extra info then maybe you need to rewire your brain and search for different clues or different intensity clues, they are there.
Some extra information that might help you in your quest. These tyres have a peak slip of only 4 to 5 degrees. The cars are very aero sensitive. Drive to the limit and when you're on it, play with the steering wheel to around 3-4 degrees... that's where the feedback is, that's where you will get information if the tyres are sliding or not, that's where the car will react too. Slight vibrations, slight force changes, slight line changes... that's your feedback you should focus on.
If you're moving the wheel left and right way past the limit searching for a big drop in FFB force, then I'm sorry, this will never happen, the car will feel dull and you'll think you're sliding around.
It is time that simracers turn back to understand what is realistic and what real cars do and stop asking for all sims and all cars in a sim to behave exactly as they think they should do or be similar to the one combo that they like and feel comfortable with. If we keep doing this, we will lose focus and the road to simcade is easy to achieve and make everybody happy. We stick to the data that we know are real, we tweak data we don't know for sure. That's how it goes. If we start tweaking things we know we shouldn't, just to make it "feel better", then what's the point losing our time simulating? We could just get a car that's fun and easy to drive, add some extra effects and copy past everywhere with some slight variations in power and weight. Done.
tl;dr
Are we perfect? Of course not.
We will get better? For sure.
Will we provide effects that some people ask just because they are more fun or give an easier to understand feedback even if we know they are not realistic? No.Idem a écrit :There's a bug that almost completely disables FFB. It's rare but I've manage to make it happen once and we're looking into it.
If you are on top of this problem then it is easy to understand that something is not working. The FFB becomes VERY light almost not existent. In my case, going into controls and moving the main FFB GAIN slider left and right before repositioning it to the original value, fixed the problem, you could try. But it might not work as I don't know if this bug is always the same for people affected.
Still, my post above is not for this very obvious issue, but for people complaining and asking to feel things that are not there. If you liked AC1 with "understeer effect" on, well good for you, but honestly it's not something we want to provide again. -
